Vehicle Repairs

Involved in an accident with one of our Policyholders and not your fault?

Let us help you get back on the road

Where you have been involved in an accident with our insured and we agree that they were responsible for the collision, we can offer our services to help you get back on the road and at no cost to you.

We can offer a full range of network repairers (over 2,500 available) that can carry out the repairs to your vehicle and supply a free courtesy vehicle for the duration of the repair. If a courtesy vehicle is not suitable for your needs and you require a vehicle of similar specification to your own, we can arrange this for you without difficulty.

Any repair carried out by an approved repairer will be of a high standard and will come complete with a 5 year guarantee.  If required, we are able to arrange collection and delivery of your vehicle upon completion of the repair. The vehicle will be cleaned inside and out.

Alternatively, if you have a preferred garage where you would like the repairs to be carried out, we are happy to make arrangements for the repair to be completed at your chosen garage.

Please use the direct dial number provided on any correspondence we have sent to you directing you to this site or dial 0330 024 8057* if you have not already been provided with a number. Replacement Vehicle

If you are unable to drive your vehicle and do not have access to another vehicle, we will provide you with a suitable replacement.  If your vehicle is beyond economical repair, you may keep the replacement vehicle until you are in receipt of the funds to settle your claim.

If you have already accepted an offer of a replacement vehicle from another provider, you can terminate that agreement and return the vehicle at any time. If you come to us, you can enjoy a free upgrade or choose to make do with a vehicle of lower specification and we will share the saving with you.

If your vehicle is a total loss

If your vehicle is a total loss, we will arrange for it to be inspected and valued by an independent qualified engineer.

If it is incurring storage charges, we will remove the vehicle to a place of free storage.

We will pay any reasonably incurred recovery or storage charges.

Your choices:

  1. We will pay you the market value of the vehicle and take ownership of the salvage (see financial interest below).
  2. You may retain the damaged vehicle and we will deduct the value of the salvage from the market value and pay this sum to you in compensation.

Financial Interest

If your vehicle is on finance, we cannot take ownership of the salvage unless we first settle the outstanding balance. If you wish us to do this, you should ask for a settlement figure from the finance company and forward it to us. We will settle the finance and pay any balance to you. If the outstanding finance exceeds the value of the vehicle, you will be responsible for the difference.

If you choose to retain the damaged vehicle, we will pay the full amount of the compensation due to you, but you will need to make any outstanding payments that are due to the finance company under the terms of your agreement with them.

Alternatively, you may retain the damaged vehicle and we can deduct the value of the salvage from the market value of your vehicle and pay the entire amount to you in compensation. If you choose this option, you will remain responsible for the vehicle and its ongoing storage. You will also be obliged to continue making your regular monthly payments in accordance with the agreement with the finance company.

Cash Settlements for Damaged Vehicles

If your vehicle is significantly damaged and will take a while to repair and you would prefer to simply receive the market value to enable you to purchase a replacement, please give us a call and see if we can assist you.

You will need to contact us urgently and before any work has been commenced on your vehicle, or parts ordered, to take advantage of this opportunity.

Give us a call and let us know what you want to do and we will attempt to accommodate you. You may find that we are far more versatile that your own insurer.

Alternatively, you may prefer to receive a cash sum instead of the repair and to retain your damaged vehicle to do with it as you please. Again, we may be able to assist you with this.

Please use the direct dial number provided on any correspondence we have sent to you directing you to this site or dial 0330 024 8057* if you have not already been provided with a number.
